At 15:00 27 June 2019, the first commercial electricity current of Nhị Hà solar power plant (Phase 1) was officially connected to the national grid. This marks a new development step of Bitexco Group in clean power and recycled power industry.
With total investment cost of nearly 1,113 billion Vnd, Nhi Ha solar power plant (Phase 1) was constructed in Nhi Ha commune, Thuan Nam district, Ninh Thuan province by Solar Power Ninh Thuan company, a subsidiary of Bitexco Power JSC.
The plant was installed more than 150,000 solar battery panels over an area of 60ha with output capacity scale of 49.92 MWp, the annually average commercial electricity output is 80.332 million kWh. The plant’s usable output capacity will be 100% mobilized by EVN through the double circuit 220kV line of Tháp Tràm – Vĩnh Tân at buying price equivalent to 9,35 UScent/kWh in 20 years.
At the meeting to summarize the investment and construction phase to transfer to commercial operation phase last 04/7/2019, Mr. Vu Quang Sang – Member of Management Board of Bitexco Power JSC cum Chairman of Nhị Hà Solar Power Sole Member Limited Liability Company affirmed Bitexco’s development strategy in energy industry, especially the clean energy where included wind power and solar power, and affirmed Bitexco’s position as the first private enterprise owning the biggest output capacity scale of clean energy and recycled energy in Vietnam at present time and in the future.
The completion and commercial operation of Nhị Hà solar power plant (Phase 1) is a turning point and the precondition for Bitexco Group and Bitexco Power JSC to continue the investment into Nhị Hà solar power plant (Phase 2) with output capacity of 150 MWp and other wind power and solar power projects in Ninh Thuận and surrounding provinces

To explore the unawake potentials of the region, the province defines to change the region to be the National energy centre and this received the Government’s support as well as offers the opportunities for local and international investors. As one of leading company in Vietnam invested into recycled energy, Bitexco Power was approved by Ninh Thuận Province People’s Committee and related authorities to make study and investment into several wind power and solar power projects.
Ninh Thuận Province People’s Committee appreciated the efforts and determination of Bitexco Group and Bitexco Power and Ninh Thuận Solar Power Company in the preparation and investment into the project to have the first commercial electricity current last 27/6/2019. This result proves the efforts of Bitexco in turning the impossible into the possible, to turn the available natural resource of Ninh Thuận province into electricity to turn Ninh Thuận province to the National recycled energy centre according to Resolution 115/NQ-CP of the Government.
